Derek Wasilewski

Welcome to the inaugural post in our We Are FTD series! We’ll be featuring some of the people you speak with regularly when you call FTD as well as the people making magic happen behind the scenes. Want to learn more about a specific member of our team? Tell us in the comment section below!

First up is Derek Wasilewski. Derek is a longtime FTD employee and currently works in the FTD Flower Exchange, where his passion for the Chicago Cubs is well known. At the FTD National Sales Meeting in December, Derek was honored as the Flower Exchange Salesperson of the Year.

How long have you been with FTD?
I have worked for FTD for 16 years this July. When I first started I did credit and collections, then I did inside sales for the partnership team (selling membership, websites and directory placement). After that I went to outside sales for the Gold Team, selling membership, before I came to Flower Exchange. I have been with the Flower Exchange for about four years now.

Please describe your role at FTD.
My role at FTD is to provide our florist members with competitive pricing and great quality on their daily fresh flower inventory.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?
My wife and kids are what most gets me out of bed in the morning.  I am so blessed to have such a wonderful wife and children.

What excites you most about being part of the FTD family?
The thing that excites me the most being part of the FTD family are my coworkers! I feel like we are always there for each other, no matter what. I feel we have a special team in place and we are always there for each other through ups and downs in our lives.

What is your favorite flower?
My favorite flower is a rose.
