Potratz has been a beloved tradition in Erie, Pennsylvania since 1919, when Herman and Elizabeth Potratz founded the business with a steadfast commitment to customer service and satisfaction.

A Rich Heritage

The Potratz journey began with the sale of flowering and vegetable plants, as well as cut flowers. Over time, their passion and dedication transformed the business into a flourishing florist and greenhouse operation. In 1982, a devastating fire struck just days before Christmas, but the Potratz family, with the support of their loyal customers, rebuilt the shop to four times its original size! This resilience not only restored but propelled the business to new heights.

Growing Through the Years

Today, Potratz Floral Shop & Greenhouses stands as Erie’s unofficial botanical gardens, having expanded to include seven greenhouses with 25,000 square feet of floor space, indoor and outdoor landscaping divisions, garden and nursery divisions, and a five-acre growing range in northeast Pennsylvania. The shop is renowned for its creative flair and exquisite floral arrangements, becoming a favorite destination for extraordinary plants, topiaries, silks, gifts, and home accessories.
