Celebrating 60 Years of Hartman Flower & Gift Shop

FTD is thrilled to honor Hartman Flower & Gift Shop for reaching an incredible 60-year milestone as a cherished member of our network. Founded by Betty Hartman, this beloved shop has been a cornerstone of Burgettstown, PA, since its opening in July 1964.

Betty Hartman, now 91 years young, embarked on her floral journey with passion and determination. A graduate of the Bill Hixon School in Lakeland, OH, Betty honed her skills through an intensive three-week design course that ran from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., five days a week. At the time, she was a young mother of two, balancing her family life with her dream of opening her own flower shop in her hometown.

For over six decades, Betty and her long-time friend and designer, Cybil, have been dedicated to serving their community with beautiful floral creations. What makes Betty’s story even more inspiring is that she has run her successful business relying on her incredible perseverance, hard work, and a deep care for her customers.

An avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Betty continues to operate Hartman Flower & Gift Shop with the same passion and dedication that started her journey all those years ago. She embodies what it means to persevere and succeed through hard work and a caring heart.
